8: A flash back of 2010 Part 1

I can't believe there is only one day left in the year of 2010. Its flown by so quickly. So much has happened in my life from getting a big fat positive, to being a maid of honor/bride's maid for the first time, to getting married myself, to taking Joel (my husband) to Disneyland and Medieval Times for the first time, to finally welcoming my wonderful bundle of joy into this world. I've never had a more fun packed year before. This whole year was so wonderful! I know I've probably said that 3 times in this intro but really...its been such a wonderful year.

So lets do a flash back with pictures. Yes for the first time I shall post with pictures.

Lets start the picture sharing off with my mom's "bachorlette trip."

Me, the second from the left, and my future sister-in-law, the third from the left right next to me, planned a whole trip to the coast to go wine tasting. This took place near the end of March, the 27th I do believe and I was already starting to show a baby bump. We rented a limo and off we went. Everyone was drunk except for me and my grandma at the end of the trip. Even with out drinking I still ended up having fun.

April 10th, 2010: My parent's wedding renewal.

Yeah that's a baby bump showing here!

My brother and me.

Our Parents.

On April 10th my parent's renewed their vows. It was their 25th anniversary this year and they decided to celebrate big, and boy did they. It was so wonderful. My dad started crying in the middle of the ceremony. He had everyone sniffing at the end. And with all those pregnancy hormones running through my body it was a hard struggle for me to not shed a tear. After the ceremony we ate then went to the dance floor and shook our booties till our feet hurt.

And seeing how the pictures are taking far to long to load I will finish this post with a part two tomorrow.

Good night all. I have a fussy sleepy baby to tend too.

7: Can the next holiday hurry up already!!

I think I got bite by the baking bug. I want to go into the kitchen and make some cookies. And you know what shape I want to make them in? Bunnies, ducks, carrots, flowers, eggs...can you guess what holiday I can't wait for? Yup, Easter! I want to dye eggs and put them outside while I anticipate the Easter bunny hopping along and hiding them in my front yard.

I want to pack an Easter basket full of goodies, peeps, Cadsbury eggs, jelly-beans, a chocolate Easter bunny. All nestled on top of Easter basket grass. I can't wait to watch my little one toss the grass around till he finds every last candy filled egg. I can't wait to watch him stumble along holding grandma's hand as she helps him search for brightly colored eggs.

I know Christmas had just passed, but I just love the holidays and having a little makes the holidays even more fun. Knowing me I'd probably even make a big deal out of Valentine's Day, maybe even New Year's Day.

So tomorrow I shall head out to the local craft store and find cookie cutters, simple circular ones. Then off to the store to buy supplies to make the best sugar cookies, and I don't mean the ones that come in a box, or the ones you find in the freezer section. The type of cookies I plan to make are the ones where you have flour smeared across your apron, and oddly your forehead from pushing your bangs back with the back of your hand. You know the kind I'm talking about. The ones you bust out every measuring cup you have to make, the ones that require more then just eggs, oil, and butter. I'm a fan of those kind too, but I want to bake. I mean really bake. I've always dreamed of people coming over and asking "What smells so good?"

Now you know for sure my little man will be joining me in the kitchen. Yes, even at 3 months he helps me bake. He adds his little touches, just like when he helped decorate his daddy's birthday cake with his hand print on the side.

I found this picture online and thought, this is gonna be my future. Husband coming home from work, son coming inside from play, and mama happily baking away in the kitchen.

If you would like to know what recipe I used for my cookies, I will post it tomorrow along with some pictures. That is if I can borrow a vehicle to go up town seeing how my car has a busted water hose.

6: Deck the Halls

I can't believe it! Christmas is just a few days away, heck a few hours!! I've never been more excited about a Christmas before. Maybe because now I have a little one to share it with. I think I'm more excited about his first Christmas then when I was little and couldn't wait for Christmas morning to see what Santa had brought me.

Yesterday we took him to get his holiday pictures done. I know we are cutting it close but the poor little guy, every time we would go he would get so cranky. But finally we got them. And seeing how they were done at a mom and pop photo place I'd have to say they came out pretty good.

Well, I still have a few gifts to wrap up. So I will leave you with a picture of my little man and after the holidays look for a post on how little Joel "made" his grandma and grandpa's gift.

Merry Christmas from a naked little jay bird!!!

5: Amber Necklaces!

Okay, I know my family thinks I'm crazy when I talk about these but I really want one for my son. Heck, I not only want one for him but I want one for me as well. If you haven't heard of these before they are necklaces made out of, if you haven't guessed already, amber. And they are the best natural pain killer, or so I've heard.

To be honest, I'd honestly rather have something natural for my little man then have to rub chemicals in his mouth, let alone RUM. (Thanks for the advice grandma haha) The whole time I was pregnant I kept looking at the necklaces from Inspired by Finn but I never got around to purchasing one. Now that I'm jobless, pretty much moneyless, I would never be able to get one.

Then on Facebook tonight I come across a post about a giveaway for one. I about fainted! How amazing would it be if I, me, Andrea, won that necklace? Pretty flipping amazing if you ask me. I read the post over and over again, if you'd like to read it you can find it here: http://longfamilychronicles.blogspot.com/2010/12/inspired-by-finn-amber-teething.html, I was starting to think I was dreaming. So I got up out of bed then came back, read it again. Still couldn't believe it! Next I pinched myself, read it again, still couldn't believe it! Then I decided if this is a dream or not I'm not losing out on this opportunity. So here I go, add this, fan that, I really want this necklace. I mean just look at them they are so cute!
